Why I Became A Financial Advisor

For many of us, we grow up learning what we are good at and what we enjoy doing with our time. If we’re lucky, our skills and passions line up and we have the privilege of having a fulfilling career. That’s exactly how I found my way into the financial industry. I have always had a mind for numbers and I love working with people to help them make meaningful and impactful financial decisions.

My Career Journey

After graduating high school, I started college and eventually ended up at University of Washington, earning a degree in Finance from the Foster School of Business. From there, I gained hands-on experience working for MetLife Insurance Company, tailoring life insurance strategies to meet the needs of my clients. I then switched to an investments focus, working with a team on an institutional trading floor and discussing fixed-income options for short-term operating cash for CFOs, CEOs, and Municipalities. I know that sounds like a mouthful, but the experience was vital for my development in my career.

While I enjoyed working directly with investments, I knew that I wanted a job with a more personal touch. As a result, I took a job with Fidelity Investments as an Account Executive so I could work with individual clients. For eleven years, I met with thousands of clients, building retirement and investment plans for those in both the accumulation and distribution phases of life.

Branching Out

After 18 years in the industry and time spent expanding my knowledge and financial planning skills, I decided to start my own company, Evergreen Wealth Management. I am passionate about wealth management and love sharing my knowledge to help others meet their financial goals. I founded my firm so I could offer ultra-custom financial planning and investment management services for individuals and businesses, all while developing long-term, trusting relationships.

The Ups And The Downs

No matter how much you love your job, there are always challenges that come along with it, such as helping people realize that change needs to happen and decisions need to be made so they can set themselves up for an ideal financial future. Despite some of the hurdles, I can’t imagine having any other career. There’s no greater feeling than knowing you made a positive impact on someone’s long-term financial plan. It’s incredibly fulfilling to know my clients are in good hands at Evergreen Wealth Management.

I work hard every day so that my clients can work toward achieving the success they desire. I approach my work with a long-term mindset, knowing that helping clients today can impact not only them but also future generations, thus creating a legacy.

Working Together

I am always open to meet new people and see how I may be able to help. Whether you’ve already started planning for the future or have yet to put strategies in place, I encourage you to reach out to me today for a no-obligation conversation to see how I may be able to help you.
